In this comprehensive, Yoga Alliance Approved, 200 hour program we will explore 36 yoga poses, pranayama, philosophy, holistic lifestyle, and meditation. Whether your desire is to deepen your private practice or teach others, this program will enrich your knowledge of the entirety of hatha yoga. Taught by instructors with decades of experience and extensive education, this program will give the student a strong foundation in western and eastern anatomy, physiology, and philosophy. Our meditation classes will be held on the beach using the ocean waves to connect with our breath and heartbeat. We will use the seed syllables of the chakras and classic yoga chants to align our bodies with our breath and internal movements.
We will learn meditation and chanting of each one and explore the corresponding western anatomy. Upon completion, our students will be able to compose classes, both group and individual, to assist their students in balancing their body, heart, mind and soul. As part of the program our students will create their own 8 week beginner series based their studies to teach to their future students. Our students will be well versed in using the techniques learned that combine the wisdom of the chakras and asana to lead an effective, safe class that assists their students in finding balance in their own lives.
Our students will receive in depth teaching of western anatomy and kinesiology. The students will understand the major muscle groups and common injuries and restrictions in each group. Our students will be able not only to identify injury but also to work the opposite muscle groups to assist in healing. We will explore the contrasts and similarities of eastern and western anatomy and physiology.
