Bodywork Autonomics Continuing Education Course

Bodywork Autonomics

This is an amazing opportunity to treat yourself while you dive into a 5-day program of self discovery, learning, treating, and being treated. Each day’s lecture and hands-on builds on the day before. The last class will be spent in the warm embrace of the Pacific Ocean as we engage the fluid dynamic. We will spend time engaging conversation with each other and the tissues of the body. We will be unboxing a number of axioms of the Touch Education philosophy as well as how they apply to session work. The course will blend advanced theory and hands-on techniques in therapeutic deep tissue massage and CranioSacral therapy that have been developed by Matthew Howe through his organization Touch Education over the last 15 years. Classroom sessions will be 5 hours a day, allowing time in the tropical ecosystem in and out of class each day.

Topics include:

  • Axioms 1 & 2 + Tools for Effective Deep Tissue + Intro to Sacrology
  • Listening skills, Symphony of awareness, fascial techniques
  • Therapeutic application of the CranioSacral rhythm, mid & long tides
  • Axiom 3 + skills to calm the nervous system
  • Fluid Dynamic – treating and supporting each other in the ocean!
  • Additional pioneering axioms unveil greater connections between content and application for new and seasoned therapists alike across the spectrum of massage, bodywork, deep tissue, sports massage, trauma/PTSD, and everyday issues.

25 Hours of NCBTMB and CE Broker Approved Continuing Education
Pre-requisites: Participants must be massage therapists, yoga therapists or other bodywork professionals.

Matthew Howe at the Costa Rica School of Massage Therapy

Matthew Howe

Matthew Howe has been an active participant in the massage and bodywork field since graduating from the Central Florida School of Massage Therapy in 2000. Logging over 20,000 massages spread across spa, chiropractic, and private practice he knows the labor of love that is massage therapy. With encouragement from friends and mentors, he officially launched Touch Education, LLC in 2003. Matthew took experiences from his practice and cultivated classes that balanced the art and science of touch. Using an axiomatic approach he breaks down complexity and shows therapists how to facilitate change across the spectrum from pathology and physiology to wellness. His teaching is heavily influenced with the spectrum of CranioSacral Therapy, both mechanical and dynamic.

Matthew keeps rooted by teaching at his alma mater as well as the Costa Rica School of Massage Therapy. He nurtures learning from others with a quest to connect information to advance the field of massage and bodywork. “I know that no single approach or modality is the right one for every client, that is why my practice and classes are engineered to be integrative in nature,” Matthew states. “Each client and student has a story to tell and the ability to reach the goals they set. My job is to foster an ecosystem that promotes change.

Matthew Howe is a Cincinnati native residing in Orlando for nearly 18 years. He knows the diversity and flexibility needed to survive and thrive in this field as he raises his family with his wife Nicole and two teenage boys.

“Those who know, do. Those that understand, teach.” ~ Aristotle
