| Communications Staying in touch with friends and loved ones is not a problem from Samara, Costa Rica. As part of the Total Immersion Package, CRSMT has high speed internet access available on campus. Bring your laptop! Students make phone calls to the U.S. using a headset with a microphone. There is also an internet cafe near by where students can rent computer time at very affordable rates. A short walk from the campus and you are sitting comfortably at David and Leslie’s Café communicating with the world and doing research for your homework. Phone cards are affordable and available at the local supermarkets. These cards can be used at any one of the public phones scattered about Samara and allow us to dial the U.S directly. You can also bring a phone card from the states. If you need to send or receive packages through airmail be prepared for it to take between 2 to 3 weeks between the United States and Costa Rica. |
| Healthcare Costa
Rica has a respectable health care system with most doctors
receiving training in the U.S. There is a doctor and a
small pharmacy in Samara. All students are responsible
for maintaining their own health insurance. |
| Banking Samara Beach has a brand new National Bank! ATM machines are available throughout Costa Rica. There are two more National banks in Nicoya which is a 30 minute bus ride away. |
