Faculty Director - Senior Science Instructor
Beverly Boyer has been a Licensed Massage Therapist since 1991. She is currently holding her license in Ohio and is a registered massage therapist in the state of Colorado. She became Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork and received her Certification in Sports Massage in 1995. Not new to the profession, she shares her passion of massage therapy through education and by setting the example. Bev has been a dedicated educator in massage therapy since 1993.
Joining the CRSMT Director Team in 2010, Bev shares her professional expertise and manages faculty selection, training and support. She fundamentally supports curriculum development and refinement in the Science Department.
Bev is a seasoned faculty member with the Costa Rica School of Massage Therapy and has been teaching since the fall quarter of 2007. She is committed in teaching the Anatomy in Clay, Myofascial Release and Neuromuscular Therapy during the 2010 and 2011 classes.
Experience helps to relate the professional aspects of being successful as a massage therapist. Bev is dedicated to maintain the top quality of instructors for the best possible educational experience for every student that attends the Costa Rica School of Massage.
Bev entered the holistic health field at age 19 while working in a chiropractic office, she developed into a chiropractic assistant that began to work with individuals in pain on a one on one basis. Understanding the benefits of manipulative therapy and conjunctive therapies such as massage therapy, Bev soon sought out her educational quest to become a therapist. It has developed into a lifestyle and continues to flourish.
Bev's experience ranges from being involved on many different levels as a therapist, educator and administrator. She has served as an Instructor at the Central Ohio School of Massage, Adjunct Faculty for the Columbus State Community College in Columbus Ohio, Associate Faculty and Faculty Chair for the Boulder College of Massage Therapy along with curriculum development with Cortiva Education and served as Clinic Director for the Broomfield campus.
Fortunate to have many professional experiences, Bev recalls working as a sports massage therapist at the Para-Olympic Games in 1996 as one of her most rewarding experiences. She volunteered as a therapist working with the Ohio State Men's Swimming Team and was a therapist for several Big Ten Championship, NCAA. Champions along with the Olympic Trials. As an AMTA Ohio Chapter member, she coordinated many state and national events offering massage to athletes before and after their events.
While in Colorado, Bev currently works at the Health Center of Integrative Therapies as a Massage Therapist. She currently sees most client's for neuromuscular treatments, pain management, postpartum women, post surgical, sports massage, massage for cancer clients and good ole relaxation massage.
Her passion continues to grow with bringing the balance of science based evidence to establish the effects of skilled human touch and the need to nurture the human race with a quality of energetic healing touch that won't be soon forgotten.
